Course entry criteria
We do not hold interviews for our CTLLS or DTLLS courses but will contact you if we have any questions after we have read your application form.
Criteria for Entry to DTLLS
- You need to have PTLLS or an equivalent qualification (if your not sure what courses count as equivalent click here and check the Ifl qualification legacy tool). If you don’t hold PTLLS /equivalent you can obtain it at the same time as you start your DTLLS course (see the PTLLS tab at the top of the page for our PTLLS course dates)
- 150 hours of teaching in the Lifelong Learning sector spread over the duration of your course. If your teaching is not in England there will be an additional charge individually negotiated
- You need to have Level 2 literacy, numeracy and ICT skills. These can be evidenced by qualification or employment experience.
- You will need to be able to write assignments at L4 and progress to L5 in the second half of the course
- To obtain the advertised price you need to be 18 or older, and have been resident in England for the last 3 years. This allows us to access Skills Funding Agency funding for your place and provide the training at the advertised price.
- You need to hold a Level 3 qualification or job experience in the subject you intend to teach.
- The teaching you are delivering must include teaching groups of learners. It can also include one-to-one teaching.
